Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Support Worker to provide essential support and care for children in various settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities, and supporting children's emotional and developmental needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while working within a supportive team environment. This is a variable hours contract.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with daily routines including feeding, dressing, and organising activities suitable for the child's age and needs
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with families and professionals
- Support children's emotional development through engaging activities and positive interaction
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and any incidents in accordance with organisational policies
- Facilitate communication between children, families, and other professionals involved in the child's care
- Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times
- Promote inclusive play and learning experiences that encourage socialisation and skill development
Skills
- Experience working with children
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual children's needs
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Knowledge of IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence to facilitate transportation duties
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development
